2017-2018 Tunxis Community College Foundation Scholarship Application

The Tunxis Community College Foundation has completed accepting scholarship applications for 2017/2018.

Thank you to everyone who applied!  Our scholarship committee will review the applications and notify students in December via email.  We look to award scholarships in January and May of 2018.  Many of our scholarships are valid for up to 18 months. Thank you and enjoy your journey at Tunxis Community College.

Our two page pdf application & essay (on the second page) are required for scholarship consideration and are due by 11:59pm 9/21/2017 via email to hsneed@tunxisfoundation.org.  Our Tunxis Library, CCSU Library and public libraries throughout the State are available to students who may not have laptops or at-home computer access. Please download the 2 page scholarship application, complete it, save it often and email both pages for consideration.  Students under 18 years of age require a parent/guardian’s signature on the scholarship application.

Essay on page 2: “What do you hope to achieve and how will this scholarship help you to achieve it?”
Hint: What is your story and how does Tunxis Community College play a part in your future?

This round of scholarship applications will focus on incoming and returning students with less than 15 credits.  Student awardees will be notified between late December 2017 and January 2018 via email.  Many of our scholarships are valid for up to 18 months.  Last May, the Tunxis Foundation awarded over $113,900 in scholarships to students throughout the state of CT!  Scholarship applications (both pages) are due by 11:59pm 9/21/2017 via email to hsneed@tunxisfoundation.org.

We work very hard at trying to reach a diverse population and our scholarships also attempt to address a variety of student’s needs such as tuition, fees, textbooks, laptops and tutoring for special needs.  New this year at Tunxis is U-PASS; which provides students with access to public transportation on CT Transit or Fasttrack along with a photo ID.

Last year the Tunxis Foundation presented a special award entitled “My Brother’s Keeper” which has been funded this year as a scholarship, thanks to the Tunxis Students of Color Alliance!

We will accept scholarship applications again in the winter. At that time the process will be open to both incoming and returning students of Tunxis regardless of how many credits a student may have.  During the winter, we will also accept applications from potential students interested in non-credit certificates such as our CNA and Phlebotomy programs. Student awardees from the winter application period will be notified between April and May of 2018.

Thank you for applying and good luck, we hope to help you open new doors!
