Hint: What is your story and how does Tunxis Community College play a part in your future?
This round of scholarship applications will focus on incoming and returning students with less than 15 credits. Student awardees will be notified between late December 2017 and January 2018 via email. Many of our scholarships are valid for up to 18 months. Last May, the Tunxis Foundation awarded over $113,900 in scholarships to students throughout the state of CT! Scholarship applications (both pages) are due by 11:59pm 9/21/2017 via email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
We work very hard at trying to reach a diverse population and our scholarships also attempt to address a variety of student’s needs such as tuition, fees, textbooks, laptops and tutoring for special needs. New this year at Tunxis is U-PASS; which provides students with access to public transportation on CT Transit or Fasttrack along with a photo ID.

The Housing Authority of the City of Bristol (BHA) gifted $50,000 to establish five $1,000 scholarships per year for a period of ten years. The announcement came at the end of the Networking Breakfast on November 12. Students can apply and each recipient shall be a resident of the Housing Authority of the City of Bristol who has financial need and has shown meritorious work, academically and in the community.
Helen G. Sneed, Executive Director of the Tunxis Foundation was thrilled. While much has changed since 1970, our founding commitment to help students access education and develop the tools they need to succeed remains the same. In addition to funding scholarships, we have expanded our support to include special learning projects, the Arts and our Veterans. We now reach far beyond the Farmington Valley into well over 15 towns and cities throughout Connecticut. Today and into the future our students live, work and play where you do business.
Please join us on November 12th and help us celebrate our 45 year history of opening doors to student success!
